Beaver boys hoops enter busiest stretch of season

The Beavers began a stretch of eight games in 14 days last Thursday in boys basketball action with a Badger Small game at McFarland, the conference leaders. Reedsburg battled the home standing Spartans for much of the night before falling in the end, 65-49.

Weston boys hit road 3 times this week

Weston got their first look at a North Crawford boys basketball team last week that has been ranked as high as number two in the state in the D-5 polls. The Trojans flexed its muscles for most of the evening on the way to a 98-43 Ridge and Valley Conference victory.

Winning streak comes to end for Ithaca/Weston girls basketball

A two-game win streak was on the line last Tuesday for the Ithaca/Weston girls basketball team, as they ventured to Wauzeka for Ridge and Valley Conference action. The streak came to an end, however, as I/W fell 57-33 in their second loss to the Hornets this season.

River Valley wrestlers topple Ithaca/Weston in dual meet action

River Valley picked up a dual meet win on the wrestling mat last Tuesday, edging Ithaca/Weston by a final count of 39-29 at Ithaca High School.

Reedsburg girls hoops squad still looks for 3rd win this season

Reedsburg was on the road twice this past week in girls basketball action with trips to River Valley and Sauk-Prairie High Schools. Reedsburg had some positive moments each night, but the Beavers saw their losing streak extend to eight in a row with a 58-48 loss to River Valley and a 48-28 loss to Sauk.

Wins over Beaver Dam, Amery highlight big week for RWD skaters


RAHS senior Jaxon Hess is the recipient of this year’s Team Tracy Award for the RWD boys hockey co-op. The criteria for seniors included at least a 3.5 GPA, volunteerism, and leadership. The award is named after Tracy Jones, who passed away Dec. 22, 2015. She was active in the Reedsburg Hockey Association, serving as coach, team manager, ace coordinator, and board member. RWD was looking at a busy stretch on the ice this past week with three scheduled games for the Reedsburg/Wisconsin Dells/Mauston Boys Hockey co-op with home games against Beaver Dam and Amery after a trip to Waunakee to kick things off.

Beavers fall at Mount Horeb in gymnastics competition

Mount Horeb hosted the Reedsburg Beaver gymnasts in a Badger Conference dual meet last week. The Beavers took a step back with their team score at 119.225 after being in the 120’s in recent meets. Mount Horeb wo the dual with 138 team points on Thursday.

Dual meet success and tournament success both were part of this past week for the Reedsburg Beaver girls wrestling squad, a group that is enjoying a very strong first year, to say the least.
