Village of Arena gets to business in busy spring

The Village of Arena had a busy spring, handling well issues, cell tower leases and a resigning trustee.
At the April 15 meeting, trustee Vern Sackett resigned and was replaced by Matthew Schroeder.
At its June meeting, the board voted to politely decline a proposed buyout from Array regarding the cell tower.

The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church, 237 Daley St., in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Organizers encourage appointments, which can be scheduled at redcrossblood.org or by calling 800-733-2767.

Reedsburg’s next Concert in the Park will highlight a polka band.

Big Griffy Jim and the Polka Dots will entertain at 6:30 p.m. June 24 at Reedsburg City Park.

Admission is free but donations are appreciated to support the series. Food will be available for purchase.

Madison College receives $156k grant to expand rural teacher opportunities

Madison College has received a $156,000 Wisconsin Technical College System Career Pathways Grant to launch a new education program to address teacher shortages in rural communities.
