Right of way may be adjusted for Foremost Farms expansion

An expansion at Foremost Farms USA in Reedsburg could require discontinuing part of a public right of way.

Reedsburg Common Council will consider the request to allow Foremost Farms to develop on a portion of Booster Boulevard. In essence, the street would be discontinued as a public roadway.

Reedsburg teacher appointed to Common Council seat

A familiar face has rejoined Reedsburg Common Council.

School District of Reedsburg Teacher Dave Moon was appointed last month to fill the at-large seat, which had been vacant. The appointment was made by Mayor Dave Estes.

Moon has served on the Council in the past.

Summer events continue next week with a variety of activities for youth and adults. Both groups are reminded to pick up their July reading logs and Bingo cards. Youth may still pick out the free book earned for successful June reading.

La Valle fireworks is July 3

La Valle will have its fireworks display on July 3.

A band will entertain at 6 p.m. in the park. Food will also be sold.

Fireworks will start at dusk.

Admission is free.

Also going on that day is a car show and vendor setup at the La Valle Center. The cars will be on display starting at 4 p.m.

Sauk County Fair starts next week


This year’s Sauk County Fair will be held July 6-12 at the Fairgrounds in Baraboo. It will feature animal exhibits and judging, a carnival and midway, vendors, information and activity booths, and Grandstand events. (Independent Star News file photos)

It’s already fair season for local residents and exhibitors.

The Sauk County Fair will be held July 6-12 at the Sauk County Fairgrounds in Baraboo.

As always, there’s no admission charge to walk in the gate.
