Sauk Prairie community event sees guns forged into garden tools

With their mission calling them to serve, the congregation of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sauk Prairie took the prophecy of Isaiah to heart and turned the symbolic implements of war into implements of peace. On April 18, the congregation held a Sauk Prairie safe disposal event with Guns to Gardens and accepted donated guns.

Kids enjoy beautiful weather during fishing clinic

The Annual Reedsburg Outdoor Club Kid’s Fishing Clinic was held at Plenke’s Pond in Reedsburg last Saturday. The club, with the help of several sponsors, puts on the event each year to promote fishing and teach youngsters how to fish. (Photos by Troy Matz)

Appliance store holds open house

Town & Country Home Appliance will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 26 at 101 W. Main St.

The ribbon cutting will start right away at 11, followed by the open house. Brats and hot dogs will be served from noon, and until supplies run out.

Butterfest honors country’s anniversary

Reedsburg’s Butterfest will be extra special this year due to the nation’s anniversary.

This year’s festival is titled, Churning out Freedom: 250 Years of Red, White and Butter.

Most activities take place at Nishan Park, and admission is free unless otherwise noted.

The Glass Case Gallery at the Spring Green Community Library is filling up with great treasures for participants in the Summer Reading Program! Items in the case are just some of the amazing incentives kids can “purchase” in the Library Store this summer using Library Loot—pretend currency they can earn by logging the time they spend reading. Several special library events will also have surprise Library Loot giveaways. Registration and reading time tracking officially opens June 15th!
