Sauk Prairie swimmers cruise past Watertown

Melani Guentherman decided to experiment a bit last Tuesday. Guentherman, Sauk Prairie’s girls swimming coach, mixed up her lineup against host Watertown on Sept. 1. What Guentherman found is her 2020 Eagles have both talent and depth and can be successful with multiple lineups this fall.

Reedsburg golf takes top spot in Wisconsin Dells Invite

Lady golfers had the best score of all teams at the Aug. 20 Wisconsin Dells Invite at Wild Rock Golf Course.

One Reedsburg team had the lowest score, 67, making it the top unit. This team included Ashleigh Johnson, Grace Benish, Lily McPherson, Elizabeth Carey and Madison Monte.

The overall course par was 71.

Reedsburg athlete earns sot on WIAC scholastic honor roll at UW-Whitewater

Jacob Erbs of Reedsburg made the 2019-2020 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Honor Roll.

Erbs plays on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team. He was a junior this past school year and is studying accounting.

RAHS announces new football schedule

Reedsburg Area High School has unveiled its latest schedule of football games.

The first matchup will be a home game against Portage at 7 p.m. Sept. 25.

The Beavers will be at home again in their second game at 7 p.m. Oct. 2. They will play Prairie du Sac.

Pirates best Merchants in final game of the season

The Reedsburg Pirates outdid the Stoughton Merchants last Saturday at Nishan Park.

The Pirates won 4-3.

Steve Gavin was the winning pitcher, who went nine innings with three runs, two earned runs, five hits, five blown saves, one home run and nine strikeouts.

Local fishing duo places fourth in college tourney

Two locals were among the top finishers in the FLW tournament in La Crosse Aug. 21.

Brady Rufenacht of La Valle and Jacob Ely of Reedsburg made up the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Bass Fishing Team, and placed fourth in the contest. They qualified for the national championships to be held in February 2021.

Live broadcasts of Beaver sports may be reality this season

Beaver girls tennis team competing well in 2020

Many high schools across the state are choosing to play a revised fall sports schedule in the spring, as set up by the WIAA in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, but RAHS teams and athletes are competing this fall and one of those groups is the Reedsburg Beaver girls tennis team.

Beaver cross country teams off and running with new coaches leading the way

After two weeks of pre-season training with plenty of safety measures and protocols in place for the athletes and coaches, the Reedsburg Beaver cross country teams compete in the first meet of the season this Thursday in Portage for a dual meet at Wyona Park.
