Beaver football hosts Mauston in Saturday scrimmage

A new era for Reedsburg Beaver football is underway this fall as the Beavers will operate without Brian Pottinger as head coach for the first time since 2006.

Beaver boys kick off 2020 soccer schedule this week

It’s only a five-week competition season this fall for the Beaver boys soccer squad but none the less, they are more than ready to hit the field this week as regular season play begins 3 weeks late due to COVID 19 and mandates from the WIAA.

Fall sports teams at RAHS looking for normalcy this year

The last of the RAHS fall sports teams that had yet to begin the 2020 season did so on Monday of this week as football, boys soccer and girls volleyball squads started with pre-season work after weeks of anticipation.

Those sports were deemed high risk by the WIAA so they had to wait until this week to kick off the pre-season.

Caden Schneider wins medalist honors for Beaver boys cross country last week

After close to three weeks of training, the Beavers boys cross country competed in its first meet of the season last week vs. Portage in a dual meet at Wyona Park in Wyocena.

Portage won the dual, scoring 23 team points compared to 33 for Reedsburg but the Beavers had some highlight performances.

Beavers defeat Sparta in girls tennis action

The Reedsburg Beavers high school girls tennis team entered this week with a winning record in dual match competition this season after downing Sparta, 5-2 on the road last Thursday. Reedsburg has won both road duals this year with victories over Baraboo, 6-1, and now the Sparta triumph.

Beaver girls golf struggles in dual match loss to Wisconsin Dells

The Reedsburg Beaver girls golf team has split its first two dual meets of the season after dropping a narrow decision at the Reedsburg Country Club vs. Wisconsin Dells last week. Dells played well and scored a 196 as a team in the nine-hole event while the Beavers struggled a bit and shot 198, two strokes behind the Lady Chiefs.

Sauk Prairie runners start strong

Years from now, Sauk Prairie cross country coach Andy Sherman probably won’t remember the final results of the Eagles’ dual meet with Waunakee on Sept. 3. What Sherman will remember is after a lengthy hiatus from sports, the Eagles were competing again. And that alone was glorious.

Eagles’ girls tennis team shining early

Sauk Prairie’s girls tennis team hosted its first match of the year on Aug. 31. And the Eagles put on a show for the home crowd. Sauk Prairie rolled past Baraboo, 7-0, winning six of the seven matches in straight sets.
