Parents can learn more about homeschool

A town hall meeting about homeschooling will be held at 7 pm. Aug. 31 at Five Solas Church.

The meeting will go over the basics of homeschooling and how it compares to public education.

Loganville holds Fireman’s Festival

The Annual Loganville Fireman’s Festival will take place Saturday, Aug. 22.

It kicks off with a run/walk at 8:30 a.m. It will include a one-mile run/walk, 5k run/walk and 10k run/walk.

Hospitals group receives national recognition

Wisconsin’s Critical Access Hospitals ranked in the top three for quality reporting and improvement rates with the Health Resources and Services Administration.

The group was acknowledged for its growth over the past year.

Lions plan burger sale due to Butterfest cancellation

The Reedsburg Lions Club is finding a way to capture the spirit of Butterfest despite the festival being cancelled due to COVID-19 this year.

The club normally sells its burgers during the event, which is held each year in early summer.

Coronavirus testing to be offered at RACA Building

Sauk County Public Health will provide COVID-19 testing in Reedsburg.

It will be offered from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at the RACA Building at Nishan Park, 1411 Viking Drive.

Those being tested don’t need to have symptoms.

Two locals among graduates from UW-Oshkosh

A couple of residents received diplomas from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh this past spring.

Mariah Burdick of Reedsburg graduated with a degree in anthropology. Lydia Westedt of La Valle earned a diploma in public relations.

About 1,700 students graduated from UW-Oshkosh in the college’s first-ever virtual ceremony.
