A popular Butterfest event is back again.

Little Miss Reedsburg will help kick off the summer celebration. The contest will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at the RACA Building. There is no admission charge but Nishan does charge parking fees during the festival. Those are $5 for a day or $10 for multiple days.

Reedsburg’s next Concert in the Park will be at 6:30 p.m. June 29.

The featured entertainer is Ladies Must Swing. This 18-piece band performs jazz, swing and Big Band-era songs.

Concerts take place in Reedsburg City Park. Bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating.

Recent hot weather means drivers need to keep an extra sharp eye on the road.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation warns that high temperatures can cause pavement to buckle.

The high school-age baseball players in Reedsburg will be busy this summer.

The next mobile pantry at Sacred Heart will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. June 23.

This will be a drive-through-only event. Anyone who needs food is invited to attend.

The line moves quickly so there is no need to line up or park at the site earlier than 4 p.m.

A scholar from Reedsburg had academic achievements at Iowa University for the spring semester.

Gunnar John Drangstveit, a senior, is studying aerospace engineering.

To qualify for honors, students must finish at least 12 credits and earn a GPA between 3.5 and 4.0. About 9,500 students made the list during the spring semester.

The Lazy Beaver Canoe and Kayak Race is being moved back to its original date for 2022, the last Saturday in July. The 22nd annual race will be held Saturday, July 30, on the Baraboo River, beginning in La Valle and ending at the Granite Avenue canoe landing in Reedsburg.

In June of 2020, a grandfather and his eldest grandson started playing pickleball at Oak Park where two tennis courts had been converted to official areas for playing the sport. With the placement of an article and picture in the local newspapers, the playing of pickleball has expanded and grown in the city of Reedsburg.

John Karow of Rock Springs made the spring semester Dean’s List at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee.

Karow is a senior and graduate of Luther Preparatory School.

To qualify for the list, students must earn a GPA of 3.6 or higher.
