Amazingly, wrestling regionals are just more than a week away.
And Sauk Prairie is hoping to peak at the right time.
The Eagles took a step in that direction during a 42-27 loss to Janesville Craig on Jan. 14.
After a three-day break from game action, the state-ranked Reedsburg Beaver girls basketball team took the floor twice in less than 24 hours and came away with a pair of lopsided wins over Onalaska and Portage as the Beavers improved to 9-1 for the season.
Friday night was a busy one for the Reedsburg Beaver wrestlers as they welcomed in Monroe and Aquinas for dual meets at RAHS on Senior Recognition Night for the program.
The WIAA has revised the WIAA Individual and Team Tournament procedures for wrestling after the WIAA Sports Medical Advisory Board and Board of Control approved an increase to eight teams gathering by Jan. 30 when the WIAA Tournament season begins amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Weston faced a difficult stretch in its high school girls basketball schedule in recent days and the Silver Eagles continue to show improvement although the team dropped games against three quality opponents; Royall, LaFarge and Boscobel.

After several weeks of down time, it’s going to be a jam-packed schedule over the next few weeks for the Weston boys basketball team.
It wound up being an idle week for the Beaver gymnasts in terms of competition as a scheduled Thursday home dual vs. Watertown was cancelled due to inclement weather.
The recent struggles for the RWD boys high school hockey co-op at Sauk-Prairie’s rink continued last week as the Reedsburg/Wisconsin Dells/Mauston co-op team was flat in a 7-1 Sauk victory as the home team remained unbeaten for the season.
Chalk up two more dual meet wins for the Ithaca/Weston high school wrestling co-op after a trip last Thursday to Hillsboro where I/W knocked off Royall and Hillsboro, both in convincing fashion.
