Groundbreaking took place this week for the Reedsburg Splash Park. The concept originated with Reedsburg youth Jacob Miller, and it was supported by Viking Village and the City.

Multiple Reedsburg residents made the President’s List for the spring 2022 term at Western Technical College.

To be included on the list, students must achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher and carry six or more credits, which are directed toward an associate degree or technical diploma.

The 2021-2022 SCIL class was hosted by the Wormfarm Institute in Reedsburg, where the class met for its ninth and final day-long session prior to this month’s SCIL graduation. The theme for the day was Celebrating Successes.

The La Valle American Legion is planning a chicken dinner for the end of the month.

It will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 30. Meals include a half a chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, roll and cookie.

Dinners cost $12 each.

There will be the option to dine in or get carryout meals.

A deadly disease infecting birds across the state has been identified in Sauk County.

The state department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection has confirmed that highly pathogenic avian flu (HPAI) was discovered in backyard flocks in Sauk and Pierce counties. Birds at both sites were culled to try and stop the spread.

The Sauk County Board is looking for a Reedsburg resident to represent the city.

The individual would speak for District 9, which includes City of Reedsburg Wards 7, 8 and 9. The term goes from now through April 15, 2024.

Logistics Coordinator John Kuball announced his retirement after 27 years with Hankscraft, which is headquartered in Reedsburg.

Kuball began with the company as a display lab technician in 1995. He’s served in many roles over the years, including purchasing manager, production supervisor and quality control manager.
