Boys XC team tops Beavers

Sauk Prairie’s boys cross country team rolled past host Beaver Dam, 24-35, last Saturday. The Eagles girls, though, fell to the Beavers, 19-44. In the boys’ race, Sauk Prairie sophomore Jack Boerger finished second individually, completing the 5,000-meter course in 17 minutes, 2.3 seconds. Eagles’ junior Ritchie Wolf was third (17:49.6), junior Dalton Zirbel was fourth (17:56.6), senior Sam Beattie was seventh (19:10.8) and sophomore Jay Dregney was eighth (19:13.10). On the girls’ side, freshman Catherine Gregg was second (20:42.8), junior Kassia Marquardt was ninth (22:37.3), freshman Lexi Been was 11th (22:45.8), junior Meadow Liedtke was 12th (22:50.6) and senior Cassie Radl was 12th (23:17.9). • On deck: The Eagles were at Lodi Monday, then are off until the travel to Portage on Sept. 29.
