End of the road

Wisconsin Heights’ trip to the postseason was a short one. The Vanguards’ boys basketball team fell to River Ridge, 56-48, in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal on March 3. Heights finished the year with an 11-12 record. Heights trailed, 26-21, at halftime and River Ridge kept the Vanguards at bay in the second half. With a young roster, Heights will hope for bigger and better in 2020-’21. The Vanguards had just one senior on the team this winter, and their top seven scorers are all expected back next season. Junior De’Shawn Barsness led Heights in scoring this year at 15.8 points per game, while sophomore Devin Brabender (9.8) had a strong year, as well.
