Mary Kommers

Mary Kommers, age 87, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Mary was born September 23, 1938 to Ernest and Katherine (Harring) Van Enkenvort.

On April 15, 1968 Mary married the love of her life, James Kommers in Oconto, WI.  Together they built a life centered around family and friends. 

Mary had many different jobs over the years, but the ones she was most proud of was being a Certified Nurse Assistant at Masonic Healthcare Center in Dousman, WI, where she, for many years, took care of patients in their final stage of life. 

Mary was a huge lover of animals, so she decided to go back to school to learn dog grooming.  She was able to open her own successful grooming business and loved it.

In 2004 Mary and her husband Jim retired and moved to Reedsburg where she made many good friends. 

Mary was a die-hard Packers fan and ticket holder since the early 60s, and even attended the Ice Bowl.

Mary is survived by her husband James; son, James (Angela) Kommers,  daughter,  Kathy Marshall-Kommers, step-son John (Laurie) Kommers and step-daughter Jean Dearth; grandchildren, Chad, Brian,  Teri,  Ashley,  Emily,  Joshua and Joseph; and great grandchildren, Devon, A.J., Cole and Nathan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Beverly; brother Dutch; and three grandsons David, Michael and Robert. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Casa de Oakes and Agrace staff for all the love, care and compassion they showed Mary.  They are truly grateful for all they did for her.

A funeral service for Mary will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Chaplain Mike Amberg will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to an animal rescue of your choice.
