Mark D. Cassem

Mark D. Cassem, age 72, of Cazenovia, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026 in the UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on June 15, 1954, in Minnesota, the son of Harley and Ardythe (Walker) Cassem.

Following high school graduation, Mark served his country in the US Marine Corps for two years. He moved to California where he continued his education in law enforcement. He later moved to Owen, Wisconsin where he farmed with family for several years. On February 28, 1995, Mark was united in marriage to Venus Ruiz in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, Phillipines. Mark and Venus resided in the Phillipines for a time before moving to Montana and later moving to Cazenovia, WI.

Mark enjoyed riding motorcycle, he liked to sing, play guitar and was an active member of the NRA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jason Cassem.

Mark is survived by his wife, Venus; children: George Cassem, Jeremy (Louie) Davis, Justin Cassem, Joshua Cassem, Jessica Alexander, Marcus Cassem and Vanessa Cassem; daughter-in-law, Melissa Cassem; several grandchildren; sisters, Carrie (Ron) Monson, Carla (Oly) Beerman; along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mark Cassem will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Reedsburg.
