SP School District exceeds expectations

Keeping Students Safe is a new GPS system installed in all Sauk Prairie School District busses. It is currently active and is an added security feature. Parents and guardians are given a code to access the bus or busses specific to their students. The GPS system will then show them where their students’ bus is currently located along the route. This will help with planning for drop off’s and pick-ups especially on inclement weather days. This new system will also be of assistance if there is an emergency as it will allow for faster and more accurate notification of where the bus is located. This, and other subjects, were discussed at the Dec. 9 meeting. Sauk Prairie School District exceeded expectations on the recent report card released by Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The district is rated in four areas including student achievement, student growth, closing gaps, and on-track and postsecondary readiness.  The district rated above state average in all areas and those scores were averaged to an overall score of 74.8 out of 100. These results are based of the 2018-19 school year. The district’s highest scoring area of the four was On-Track and Postsecondary Readiness with a score of 87.2. School District Administrator Jeff Wright reminded the public that even though these results are a great thing for the district, they are only one indicator of the quality of students and staff the district has and the work they are doing.  In addition, GSPIE donated $2225 to reconcile overdue lunch accounts for students.
