The River Valley High School boys varsity basketball team finished out its season last week in two regional games. The first was a game against Westby which ended in 57-52 victory for the Blackhawks. Tyler Nachreiner and Preston Hying each got 14 points for the Hawks.

After winning a Regional title for the seventh time in program history, the Reedsburg Beaver girls basketball team has their sights set on a second trip to the WIAA State Tournament. They’ll do it if they can win two home games this week as the Beavers and three other schools embark on the Sectional round in the WIAA Tournament series.
Weston was unable to take any momentum from last week into the post-season in boys basketball action after notching its first win of the season the previous week. Weston snapped a 33-game losing skid on Feb.
For the first time in over 10 years, Weston won a post-season high school girls basketball game last week and it occurred on the home floor. Weston opened the post-season last Tuesday with an exciting 74-68 win over New Lisbon and it was the first home game in WIAA Tournament play for the Weston girls since 2011.
The fine season for junior wrestler Jacob Manning came to an end with the Ithaca/Weston co-op on Saturday after losing a pair of matches at the WIAA State D-3 Tournament, held at Wausau East High School.
