Sauk Prairie’s 38th Annual Madrigal Faire a great time for all

Sauk Prairie High School Music Department held its 38th Annual Madrigal Faire in the River Arts Center on December 14, 2024. Students transform Leola Hall, the lobby, the gallery and the theater into a medieval castle, accompanied by period-style costumes, food and wassail, music and merriment.

Reedsburg superintendent announces retirement

The School District of Reedsburg is searching for a new superintendent.

Roger Rindo announced he is retiring, effective June 30, 2025.

He has worked in education for 36 years, 16 of those as a superintendent.

Sauk Prairie School District sees lower mill rate, eyes upcoming facilities projects

The Sauk Prairie School District held their Annual Meeting on September 9th, where residents approved a $36.5 million dollar budget. District Superintendent Jeff Wright, in his comments, noted “In 2019, our mill rate was $9.51. We anticipate this year’s mill rate to be $7.25.

Wisconsin Heights mill rate drops compared to last year

The Wisconsin Heights School District had their Annual Meeting on October 28th, where they reviewed the budget and the gathered electors approved the levy. Taxes this year, including the April operating referendum, will come to a $9.43 mill rate, a drop of 7.5 percent over last year’s $10.21.

Wisconsin Heights Drama Club performance includes far-fetched falsehoods and family furor

Wisconsin Heights Drama Club is performing their fall play, “An Absolutely True Story (As Told By a Bunch of Lying Liars)”. This show focuses on an ordinary family with a broken heirloom vase and the mystery of who’s behind it. Each suspect will give their far-fetched version of the truth and you’ll have to decide for yourself on the culprit.

The School District of Reedsburg was recently honored by the Wisconsin School Public Relations Association (WSPRA) with two Spectrum Awards of Excellence for its work in school communications.

National Honor Society holds toy drive

Reedsburg Area High School’s National Honor Society is holding its annual Holiday Drive.

Students will collect toys and monetary donations Dec. 2-6. New, unpackaged toys may be dropped off at the school.

Music department organizes craft fair

The Music Department will host the 43rd Annual Weston Craft Fair on Nov. 30.

It will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in both gyms at the school district. There will also be concessions available from the Weston Sheep project.
