On the Same Page: Live-action Clue, camping theme, and Party in the Park next week

There is no shortage of summer events at Reedsburg Public Library. This week boasts camping-themed activities for various groups, a live-action Clue game for teens, and a pressed flower craft for both teens and adults. Distinctly Downtown’s Party in the Park rounds out the week Saturday, July 25.

Adults and teens are invited to Mingle & Muse: Summer Edition. Join Assistant Director Anne Howe on Wednesday, July 22, at 2 p.m. to make a pressed flower craft. All materials will be provided for you to make a small glass window decor. No registration or fee is required to attend.

Youth programs this week begin on Monday, July 20, at 10 a.m., with the editing and finalizing of stories for the Reedsburg Writers group. Be sure to attend the July 20 or July 27 session for your story to appear in the group’s summer publication. Later in the day, at 2 p.m., Teen Time participants (Grades 6-12) will choose their roles for live action Clue. A number of parts are available including the iconic Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard and Professor Plum.

On Tuesday, July 21, at 2 p.m., Time Travelers (Grades K-2) will meet to explore the Renaissance. Participants will learn about the historic revolution of art, philosophy and invention. They will wrap up the program by creating a masterpiece of their own.

Camping is the theme for both the Loganville Little Library session and Discovery Days on Thursday, July 23, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. respectively. At the Loganville Village Hall, participants will help set up a campsite and take part in camp stories and crafts. Discovery Days (Grades 3-5) in the afternoon will experience a similar adventure! Discovery Days does require registration 24 hours in advance.

Reedsburg Public Library will again participate in the annual Party in the Park on Saturday, July 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in City Park. Sponsored by Distinctly Downtown Reedsburg, the Party features an Antique and Upcycled Flea Market. Be sure to stop in at the RPL booth where Miss Steph and Miss Ashley will be handing out fun library swag, directing games, and distributing a take-home craft.

Youth and adults are reminded to continue to record their reading on the July reading logs or Bingo cards. Remember the end of the month prize for youth is a free book to be selected from a wide variety of titles! August reading logs will soon be available.

Concert goers at City Park on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. should be sure to stop by RPL’s tent to register for the Library’s Intermission Prize Drawing.
