Spring Green, Plain, and Lone Rock Library Notes

Spring Green
By Emily Whitmore, Library Director

Summer is here! And if you live in Libraryland like I do, then summer is not about vacations or hot days or sitting by the pool, but about summer reading. This is an event that we plan for pretty much all year. Kate and I start to think about it during the winter (which by the way, is a very strange experience) and then it does not let up until August.
I mention all of this to say we are almost at the start of the program! We have lots of events planned as well as the reading part of the program. If you have not received one of our booklets full of the events happening the River Valley yet, you can pick one up at an area library.
The reading portion for both kids and adults will be the same as it was last year. For the kids, we will be giving out Library Loot for time spent reading. Library Loot can then be used to buy items from the Summer Reading Store. Adults will have a challenge, where in they will need to match a book read to a particular prompt. This will earn them points for a chance to win some awesome prizes!
Bring on the Summer! Or really, the Summer Reading!
The library is open Monday through Thursdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
If you have questions about library services, we are here to help! Call us at (608) 588-2276 or email ewhitmore@springgreenlibrary.org. Ongoing library updates will be posted to our website (www.springgreenlibrary.org) and Facebook page. The Library is located at 230 E. Monroe Street.
