Pets of the Week: Tony and Star

The Sauk County Humane Society has unveiled its featured pets, with comments from shelter staff. They are as follows.

Tony is a 2-year-old Basenji mix with plenty of energy and an even bigger personality packed into his 30-pound, 16-inch frame. He loves being around people and has even visited local nursing homes, where he enjoys soaking up attention. When he's not out and about, Tony is happy to curl up for cuddles and hand out plenty of kisses. He's confident, curious, and always ready to see what's going on around him. Because of his active nature, Tony is looking for a home without cats, young children, or other dogs. He'll do best with someone who understands energetic breeds and can provide a consistent routine, training, and plenty of exercise. A fenced yard would be a great fit for this active guy. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.

Star is an approximately 1-year-old black cat who came to the shelter as a stray and is ready to shine in a home of her own. This friendly girl has a curious personality and loves to explore everything around her, always wanting to see what’s happening next. She’s also quite the chatterbox and isn't shy about letting you know when she wants your attention. Star enjoys being close to her people, happily soaking up pets and affection whenever she gets the chance. Treats are another favorite, and they’re a great way to win her over even faster. With her playful curiosity, sweet personality, and love of human companionship, Star is a fun, affectionate young cat who would make a wonderful addition to a lucky family. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations
