Stoughton--Rinold Raymond Nowack, age 94, of Stoughton, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Milestone Senior Living in Stoughton. He was born on January 23, 1932, in Greenfield, Wis., the son of John and Charlette H. Nowack.
Rinold proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy before beginning a long career as a carpenter with Pepper Construction Company, from which he retired in 1997.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, fishing, boating and hunting. A skilled woodworker, Rinold also found great satisfaction in creating projects with his hands. He had a special fondness for dachshunds and always enjoyed the companionship of his beloved wiener dogs. In addition, he generously gave his time as a volunteer with the VFW and the Orphan Grain Train, where he valued camaraderie and opportunity to serve fellow veterans and his community.
Rinold is survived by his daughter, Gale Schumacher; son, Donald Nowack; granddaughters, Erica, Nichole, Elizabeth and Faith Nowack; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Carol; parents, John and Charlette; and sisters, Dorothy and Shirley. 
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton, at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026, with Pastor Paul Crolius presiding.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Burial will be held at Windridge Memorial Park and Nature Sanctuary in Cary, IL at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
