Pets of the Week: Shadow and Moto Moto

The Sauk County Humane Society has unveiled its featured pets, with comments from shelter staff. They are as follows.

Shadow is a 2-year-old Labrador mix whose journey has been nothing short of inspiring. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was severely underweight, exhausted, and clearly had a rough road behind him. With plenty of care, good meals, and kindness from the staff, Shadow has made an incredible comeback and is now healthy, happy, and ready to start the next chapter of his life with a family of his own. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he feels comfortable, his affectionate personality quickly takes over. Shadow loves leaning against your legs for attention, soaking up belly rubs, and spending time with his favorite people. He walks beautifully on leash, enjoys meeting other dogs, and would happily show off his zoomies in a fenced yard before relaxing by your side. He has a medium energy level, appears to be doing very well with his potty routine, and doesn't seem to mind feline friends. Shadow is the kind of dog who reminds you how resilient animals can be, and after everything he’s been through, he deserves a home where he’ll never have to wonder if he’s loved again. He is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered prior to adoption.

Moto Moto is a 1-year-old orange male who came to the shelter after his owner experienced financial hardships, and he’s ready for a fresh start with a family to call his own. Outgoing and people-oriented, Moto Moto loves attention and will happily lean into your hands for extra pets whenever he gets the chance. He’s easy to pick up, enjoys being around his favorite humans, and has a calm, curious personality that makes him a pleasure to spend time with. While he’s not much of a lap cat, he’s always nearby and eager for affection. When it’s playtime, you’ll often find him chasing ball toys, rolling around with catnip, or scratching away on his favorite post. Moto Moto would do best as the only cat in the home, as he isn't a big fan of other cats. He is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered prior to adoption.
