Roberta ‘Bobbie’ (Brey) Anderson

Roberta ‘Bobbie’ (Brey) Anderson, 76, of Blue River passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at UW Hospital, Madison. She was born on June 24, 1949, in Richland Center the daughter of Herman and Lucille (Gruber) Brey. Bobbie graduated from River Valley High School on June 2, 1967. On July 22, 1972, she married the love of her life, Rick Anderson in Plain. Their love was not a showy love, but it was fierce, devoted, and loyal. Bobbie always said ‘Rick treated her so good,’ or ‘he’s so good to me, I couldn’t have found a better man.’ She passed this along to her children and grandchildren all the time.

Bobbie and Rick began their life together in Madison, where they welcomed their children, Greg ‘Boomer’ and Jamie. The couple chose to get out of Madison and return to Blue River to offer a better life for their children, living on a dairy farm was what they felt would be the best upbringing. Once they returned to the farm, they welcomed their daughter, Jenny. Rick worked two jobs so Bobbie could stay home with the children until they went to school. Once all of the kids went to school, Bobbie went to work at the Richland County Bank where she was a faithful employee for 35 years.

She was her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader, and while she was able, she could always be found in the stands, proudly wearing the team colors and cheering them on. She enjoyed visiting garage and craft sales and loved bringing home the treasurers she found. Bobbie loved sending greeting cards and read through all of them to find the right one, and she always did, and underlined the words that meant the most to her-often nearly the entire card, much like her mom and sister did. Bobbie kept a wonderful home, and she welcomed everyone into it with love and made sure they felt like family. When she was involved in any gathering or celebration, Bobbie made sure there was more than enough food, as you never wanted to run out for your guests.

Bobbie loved Mountain Dew and absolutely hated frogs, at least the live ones. The grandchildren would tease her about her dislike of frogs by pretending to catch frogs outside and using their cupped hands with pretend ‘rock’ frogs inside to chase grandma around the house.  She was tender hearted and would feel bad telling a salesman no, especially the Schwan’s man, so sometimes she would make the kids hide with her, like they ‘were on the most wanted list,’ as she didn’t want to tell him no! Bobbie didn’t like animals in the house but regularly her children would sneak puppies in the house when she was at work, and she would pretend not to know about it when she got home.

She was stronger than anyone could have imagined. Bobbie’s faith, laughter, and love will never be forgotten. “Love you so much.”

Grandchildren: Blake and Kyle Dax, Hannah (Chase Chitwood) and Leah Hinkle, Cash and Lucy Anderson;

Siblings: Al (Mary) Brey, Randy (Teresa) Brey, Sharon (Francis) Hrubes;

In-laws: Bess Anderson, Steve (Kim) Anderson, Randie (Helen) Anderson;

Beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Lucille Brey, siblings: Vic (Jacquie) Brey, Ray Brey, Bonnie (Tom) Drone, Charlee (Donnie) Linscheid, and Marlene Brey, in-laws Archie and Hazel Anderson, and brother-in-law Mike Anderson.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 11:30 AM at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Plain. A private family burial will be held at the Basswood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Plain on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 9:30 until the time of the mass at 11:30 AM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
