Mildred (Millie) Rott
Mildred (Millie) Rott, age 90 passed away Sunday January 11, 2026. She was born on October 2, 1935 in Lone Rock. Parents were Ernie and Rachel (Webster) Peterson. She graduated from Lone Rock High School and went on to the Richland County Normal School, UW Richland and UW Platteville. Millie taught school for a number of years before becoming involved in politics. She was elected as the first woman to the Richland County Board where she spent 15 years, 40 years on the Lone Rock Village Board – 14 of those as Village President, and she worked in the State Capital for 10 years as Administrative Assistant to Senator Barb Lorman. She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in Lone Rock and was instrumental in forming the Lone Rock Historical Society.
On June 30, 1956 she married LeRoy Rott, who passed away in 1991. They had 4 sons – Peter – Pittsburgh, Scott – Lone Rock, Chris (Doug Walbert) – Hudson FL, Matt (Dawn) – Lone Rock. One Grandson, Chase (Becky) – Sauk City and 3 Great grandsons-Landyn, Jameson and Bentley – Sauk City.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church in Lone Rock, with burial to follow in the Button Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Lone Rock on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. Memorials can be made to First Lutheran Church, Lone Rock or Lone Rock Historical Society. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
