Next week heralds the last week for most Reedsburg Public Library summer programs, and the second to the last week of summer reading challenges. Events of note include mini-golf for the whole family, a Discovery Days Eat around the World experience, a teen lock-in, and a Grown Up Monday Fun Day craft session.

On Monday, Aug. 5, adults will want to attend Grown Up Monday Fun Day at 2 p.m. to make “map frames.” Use old highway or topographic maps to create a 4 x 6 frame for a travel photograph. All materials will be provided.

On Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 6 p.m., join us for Family Night featuring mini-golf on the library’s back lawn. In case of inclement weather, family activities will take place in the library’s Community Room.

On Thursday, Aug. 8, the final Loganville Little Library session will meet at the Loganville Village Hall at 10 a.m. Meet Miss Heather and Miss Steph for stories and crafts from other cultures.

Later on Aug. 8, the last Discovery Days for students Grades K through 5, will feature cuisine from around the world. Join Miss Heather and Miss Steph at 2 p.m. in the library’s Community Room. Please note that it cannot be guaranteed that the foods will not contain nuts or other allergens. Registration is required at least 24 hours in advance, either on the library’s website calendar or via a phone call.

On Friday, Aug. 9, the last Summer Storytime and Lunch Bunch of the summer will be held. The morning storytime at 10 a.m. in the library’s Community Room will feature stories from around the world. Lunch Bunch will be held at noon on the library’s back lawn, weather permitting.

Later on Aug. 9, a teen lock-in, the last teen event of the summer, will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., after hours, in the library. Teen and tweens entering Grades 6 through 12 will enjoy creating and baking their own pizzas and watching a movie. Registration is required to attend this program. Sign up on the library’s website calendar or call the library. Students attending must be present for the entire session.

All summer library reading challenges for youth and adults must be completed by the end of the day on Saturday, Aug. 17. Prizes will be available for the next two weeks, and the grand prize drawings will occur early in the week of Aug. 19.

Next week’s article will feature the summer library program finale, a presentation by the National Mississippi River Museum on Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. in the Reedsburg Lion’s Building.
