The Beaver girls basketball team experienced a rarity recently, experiencing a three-game losing skid.
Reedsburg lost two games on the road to Stoughton and Wisconsin Rapids and then early last week, the streak was extended in a 74-46 loss to state-ranked Edgewood at RAHS.
Coach Neil Mattson was hoping for a milestone 350th career win as a head hockey coach in Reedsburg last Tuesday in a home game, the final one of the season for RWD, as they hosted Monroe in Lake Delton.

It’s been many years since the area high school girls hockey co-op known as the Badger Lightning has produced a four-game win streak but that’s where the group stood after a Badger Conference win, 3-1, over the Icebergs from Stoughton last Tuesday in Baraboo.
Senior Night made for good feelings all around last Tuesday night for the RWD boys hockey team and those feelings were more special after a conference victory over Stoughton at RACA. RWD played a good Sauk team two nights later and fell short for a split of the two games for the week.
For the third year in a row, the Ithaca/Weston wrestling co-op won the title at the Ridge and Valley Conference Duals which were held last Thursday at Kickapoo High School. I/W won all five duals against North Crawford/Seneca, River Ridge, Kickapoo/La Farge, Pecatonica/Argyle and DeSoto.
Some success has been enjoyed by the Weston Silver Eagle boys basketball team outside the conference this season but a league victory has been a tough nut to crack and that trend continued on Friday night with a 66-51 home loss to DeSoto, the second loss to the Pirates this season.
Despite some good moments in each contest, the result was a pair of losses this past week for the Beaver boys basketball team with a non-conference loss to La Crosse Logan and a conference loss to Sauk-Prairie, both on the home floor.
