Defeating Badger Conference rivals has been a big challenge in recent years for the Badger Lightning girls hockey co-op, with the exception of Beaver Dam. That trend turned around some on Saturday when the Lightning posted a 4-0 win in Stoughton against the Icebergs.
Junior Sydney Cherney (#22) set a new single game scoring record for Reedsburg Beaver girls basketball last week by scoring 42 points in Reedsburg’s 73-60 loss at DeForest. Cherney was 13 of 27 from the floor and 13 of 13 at the foul line and also grabbed 11 rebounds as well. The Reedsburg Beavers were able to notch the first win of the high school girls basketball season at Tomah on Saturday night after starting the season 0-2.
The Badger Lightning girls hockey co-op evened up the record for this season at 1-1 with a Friday win over Beaver Dam at the Pierce Park Pavilion in Baraboo.
The Lightning were scheduled to face Wisconsin Valley Union on Tuesday in the Rapids before a Badger Conference game at Stoughton Saturday against the Icebergs.
