Cherney shares Conference Player of Year honors in girls hoops


Reedsburg’s Sydney Cherney (#22) was named as Badger Small Co-Player of the Year in girls basketball after she led the state in scoring at 34 points per game and in rebounds at 18.5 per contest. It’s not exactly breaking news that Reedsburg’s Sydney Cherney has been one of the top players in the Badger Conference in girls basketball in recent years, especially in this just completed season.

Reedsburg produces 8 All-Conference wrestlers in 2023-2024


Five Reedsburg Beaver wrestlers have achieved All-Conference first-team status for this season in Badger Small and three more are second-team All-Conference wrestlers. Seniors Jesus Gonzalez and Colton Herritz along with juniors Treynor Curtin and Kade Parrish and sophomore Brayden Klemp are first-team honorees with Gonzalez, Curtin and Parrish winning conference titles this season. Junior Braxton Walter and freshman Hudson Jablonski and Sam Timlin are Reedsburg’s second-team All-Conference wrestlers. Reedsburg shared the overall conference title with Stoughton this year. For the first time since 1993, Reedsburg Beaver Wrestling had three conference champions in the same season in 2024 and those three, plus two others, earned All-Conference first-team status for this year as announced this past week for Badger Small.

Weston players earn All-Conference honors in boys basketball

The Ridge and Valley Conference last week recognized its top boys basketball players for the season as this year’s All-Conference teams were announced. Weston had two players that earned all-league recognition and another on the all-league sportsmanship team.
