Weston plans Veterans Day Program

The Weston School District’s Veterans Day Program will begin at 9 a.m. Nov. 11.

Veterans are invited to a breakfast, which will start at 8 a.m. in the Weston cafeteria. Guests should enter through the doors by the high school office.

All attendees will be required to wear masks.

Reedsburg Area Medical Center has joined others in Sauk County supporting updated recommendations to provide COVID-19 boosters to certain populations.

Regional foundation donates $26,000 raised from golf outing

The W.R. & Floy A. Sauey Foundation gave $26,000 to People Helping People of Baraboo.

The money was raised during a charity golf outing in August. The event had more than 130 participants.

People Helping People is a faith-based nonprofit that assists low-income families and disadvantaged job seekers.

Sauk County program proposal wins AARP grant

An idea to give Meals on Wheels recipients Christmas gifts will be funded by an AARP Wisconsin grant.

The money will be awarded to the Sauk County Aging and Disability Resource Center to provide a Christmas comfort present to each Meals on Wheels client. The $1,000 grant is part of AARP’s Small Dollar, Big Impact program.

Sauk County adds another death, more hospitalizations from COVID-19

COVID-19 has taken another life in Sauk County.

According to the latest Health Department data, another person died from the virus between Oct. 19 and 25. There were also seven hospitalizations in that timeframe, as well as 153 newly confirmed cases.
