Posting photos of new partner with your children

There’s a circus trick where a performer keeps multiple plates spinning on poles. There are variations. Sometimes there’s a line of poles on the ground, other times the performer balances the poles and plates on their hands and head. The goal is to keep the plates from falling.

When Trump appears before his fans and calls military personnel and veterans “losers”, while his hands play an invisible squeeze box, or he puts on his “little boy” face, tilting his head, getting sympathy from the crowd, reasonable people are disgusted. Literacy is the basis for developing minds, and is central to any democratic society.

Governor Evers is selling democracy by signing our new legislative district maps. There is no hidden agenda on his part, he just wants your votes to count.

Dan Holzman’s February 15 letter, “Escaping the cult,” erroneously states that I “claim” to understand our federally-created immigration crisis made many times worse by the increasingly incapable Commander in Chief.  What’s not to understand?

I read the Independent here in San Diego and enjoy staying updated on my home town of Reedsburg.

My (late) husband read the Independent too, and routinely commented on the community's great support of young people with its recognition of their scholastic and athletic endeavors and their community service.

My daughter found an old stack of photographs the other day, wedged between a stack of papers crammed into a small wooden hutch where “important” paperwork hibernates at our house. The images were neglected so long that many summers’ humidity had partially melted them into an inch-wide slab of conjoined, faded individual sheafs.

Was it a dream, or was I really there? If a dream, it was an exceptionally vivid and beautiful one. I was sitting on the porch of a cottage in the mountainous rainforest. Everything was fresh and green and I could hear things growing. Little lizards darted along the railings and around the molding at the top of the wall.

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, about one in five women and one in seven men who experienced rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner first experienced some form of partner violence between the ages of 11-17 years old.
