At a time when the first question any candidate for elected office receives from a voter is “are you a Democrat or Republican” I think it is important that we return to the Wisconsin way of choosing the best person for the job. With that said, I am endorsing Blake Duren for Sauk County Circuit Court Judge and urging you to vote for him as well.

In response to the front page article about the Health Care Center:

As a retired psychology teacher, I now see schadenfreude everywhere.

One of the more interesting and educational decades of my life was spent as a Judicial Assistant to three Sauk County Circuit Court Judges: Robert Curtin, Virginia Wolfe and Patrick Taggart.

I dread Union addresses.

Perhaps at one time they meant something. Now, they are just empty words, made all the more barren by an Election Year.

For the 18th straight year, the Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council is recognizing outstanding efforts to protect the state’s tradition of open government through its Openness in Government awards, or Opees.

Eat pie for a better world! Now there is a winning idea! Pie Day is coming soon. It is based on the number Pi, expressed as 3.14......, which is essential, among other things, for calculating the measurements of circles.

Donald Trump has failed to condemn Russian President Vladimir Putin for the death of former blogger and chief rival Alexei Navalny. Notably, President Biden, members of Congress on both sides of the aisle and many world leaders have done so.

Last Saturday’s mail included a flyer from Tony Kurtz, the Republican assemblyman for Juneau County and Part of Sauk. I had to go online to discover that Tony is a Republican because there was no clue to his party affiliation anywhere in the text.

After reading the paper over the last few months, I want to comment on what I’ve seen.
