Cason R. “Dick” Whitehurst, age 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at his home in Ironton, surrounded by his family following a brave battle with cancer. He was born on August 1, 1949, in Norfolk, VA, the son of Richard Cason and Rosemary (Gardner) Whitehurst.
Charlotte Mitchell Smith passed away suddenly on November 13, 2025. Charlotte was born in Cedar Falls, IA, to John and Eunice (MacInnis) Mitchell on October 12, 1947. She graduated Cedar Falls High School in 1966 and attended Macalester College, St. Paul, MN, where she met Michael Smith in 1967. Charlotte and Mike were married on May 17, 1970.
Barbara L Dietz Novy Maeglin, age 84, of Valton, passed away on December 4, 2025, following a courageous battle with lymphoma cancer. She was born on March 28, 1941, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin to Lyle C Dietz and Ilis M. (Hendricks) Dietz.
Jennifer Elizabeth “Jen” McCluskey, age 38, of LaValle, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. She was born on April 21, 1987 in Reedsburg, WI, the daughter of Shane and Margaret “Maggie” (Brown) McCluskey.
Janet Ann Laukant, aged 81, of Rock Springs, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Sauk County Health Care Center, after a 10 year battle with dementia.
Florence Mary Bird, 95 of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at her home. She was born January 15, 1930 to Walter and Marjorie Bird in Ohio. After graduated high school, Florence attended the California College of Arts in Crafts in Berkeley, California, where she earned her Masters Degree in Arts.
