Representatives from SSM Health St. Clare Hospital and Madison College present a $2,000 scholarship to Jeffrey Taylor of Portage on March 7. Taylor is in his fourth semester of the nursing program at Madison College. This scholarship is made possible through the Madison College – Reedsburg Celebrate a Nurse 5K event.

Commander Jesse Arias from the Reedsburg American Legion Post 350 presents a $1,400 dollar donation to the Badger Honor Flight. Badger Honor Flight is a regional affiliate of the national Honor Flight Network.

The Sauk County Humane Society has unveiled its pets of the week, with comments from shelter staff. They are as follows.

More than 1,900 students graduated following the last semester.

Viking Village Foods will offer photos with the Easter Bunny on March 23.

The Bunny will be at the store from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participation is free but donations of canned food would be appreciated for the Reedsburg Area Food Pantry.

This past month I joined the Farmer Angel Network team. For those that don’t know, The Farmer Angel Network was established in 2018 after a local farmer died by suicide. It is a group comprised of volunteers in our community who support agriculture by providing education, resources and fellowship with a focus on mental health.

Billy McGuigan’s Pop Rock Orchestra will be at the CAL Center on March 23.

“Do you consider yourself creative?” When UW-Madison Extension Sauk County Educator Morgan McArthur asked this question of the Sauk County Institute of Leadership (SCIL) participants, less than half of the 20 attendees said “Yes.” The conversation continued and participants soon realized that problem solving - a required skill in the work place
