Mad City Jug Band to visit Reedsburg

The next Concert in the Park will feature Mad City Jug Band.

The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at Reedsburg City Park.

Admission is free but donations are appreciated to support the series. Guests should bring their own blankets or lawn chairs for seating. Local groups will sell concessions.

Sauk County livestock producers can receive drought recovery assistance

The USDA Farm Service Agency is accepting applications from Sauk County livestock producers who’ve been affected by the drought.

The Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP) is designed to help producers who have suffered grazing losses. The deadline to apply is Jan. 30, 2024.

Senior, workforce housing development makes headway

Reedsburg Common Council has approved a memorandum of understanding with a developer to construct a 116-unit development in the 1400 block of Eighth Street.

The request was passed during Monday night’s regular meeting.

Third Act Development wants to build the homes for seniors, or 55 and older, as well as workers.

Bob Van Meeteren, president and chief executive officer of Reedsburg Area Medical Center, has won this year’s Grassroots Champion honor through the American Hospital Association (WHA).

WHA nominates one person in each state to be honored with the award.

Reedsburg Fire Department celebrates 150 years

The celebration is set for noon to 11 p.m. July 29 at the department.

Popular Airplane Ball Drop to be held July 28-29

Viking Village Foods will celebrate Reedikulus Days this weekend.

A highlight of the event is the Airplane Ball Drop, which is turning 38 this year. Children under age 12 are invited to wait in the designated portion of the parking lot to catch a ball that can be redeemed for a prize.

Party in the Park offers free entertainment

Distinctly Downtown Reedsburg will again hold its annual Party in the Park.

The event is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 29 at Reedsburg City Park. There is no admission charge.

The Cazenovia German Band will perform in the band shell from 9 to 11 a.m.

At 10 a.m., Jensen Racing will host an event on Third Street.
