Take advantage of programs next week at Reedsburg Public Library! In addition to the already busy Youth Services schedule, a cartooning workshop, a homeschool woodworking program, and a retirement seminar are planned.

For several years, a dedicated group of local quilters has been meeting in the Wonewoc Public Library once a month to work on individual projects while sharing tips, treats and camaraderie.

Now, they have made and donated a handmade quilt to be auctioned off to benefit the library.

The Sauk County Humane Society has unveiled its pets of the week, with comments from shelter staff. They are as follows.

Madison Area Technical College will hold an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Oct. 2.

Hours will be from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A 56-unit apartment building has received further clearance from Reedsburg Common Council.

The next Sauk County Clean Sweep is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 30 at the old landfill, E8795 Evergreen Lane, Baraboo.

A new wastewater treatment plant may be a ways off yet for Reedsburg but preparation needs to start now.

On Monday night, Reedsburg Common Council accepted the lowest bid to clear off land that will be used for the future plant. This site is located at the former dog park on the east side of town.

The Great Steak Challenge overtook last year’s event in terms of meals sold and money raised.

The annual event, held Wednesday of last week, took place at Viking Village Foods. Volunteers and donors prepared steak sandwich and children’s meals to raise money for Reedsburg Area High School activities.

The City of Reedsburg now has a guide to help it make decisions regarding parks and natural areas.

On Monday night, Common Council approved the 2023-2028 Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan.

It’s water maintenance time for Reedsburg’s fire hydrants.

From now through the end of October, Reedsburg Utility workers will go all over town to test the water flow and pressure in hydrants. Flushing also removes sediment from pipes.

Flushing can take place between 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
