Lois W. Hoege

Lois W. Hoege, age 79, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at Oak Park Place in Baraboo with her son at her side. Lois was born on December 6, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Albert M. and Sarah W. (Rydall) Caldwell.

On September 2, 1967 she was united in marriage to David E. Hoege in Memphis, TN. This marriage was blessed with three children. She had been employed as a key punch operator at Hankscraft (Gerber) and later worked at Lands’ End in the call center until her retirement.

Lois found her greatest joy in her family. She was a devoted mother who could be found in the stands at every game, concert, and event her children participated in, and she proudly served as a Cub Scout leader. She coached children’s bowling leagues on Saturday mornings and later in life developed a genuine love for video games - particularly Legend of Zelda and puzzle games - which she played with enthusiasm long after her children had grown. She also enjoyed reading, spending time on the computer, fishing, and listening to Motown music. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and opened her home without hesitation to anyone who needed one. Her warmth, her humor, and her quiet generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Lois was preceded in death by her infant daughter Melissa June; her parents; her in-laws Maurice R. and Gladys (Westenhaver) Hoege; sisters Margaret “June” (Gary) Hanlin and Violet “Louise” (James) Best; brother Frederick M. Caldwell; sister-in-law Janice Caldwell; nephew Gerald “Jerry” Best; niece Wendy Schutz; brothers-in-law Donald (Victoria) Hoege, Dale R. Hoege, and Leo Schutz; along with many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is survived by her husband, David; children Mary W. (Gary) Bellis and Jeffrey A. Hoege; her brothers William S. (Winona) and Lonnie R. Caldwell; sisters-in-law Shirley Schutz, Beverly Hoege and Sandra Caldwell; brother-in-law Robert L. (Reta) Hoege; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Service will be held 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Pastor Lonnie Caldwell of Community of Christ Church, Memphis, TN will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be made in Greenwood Cemetery, Reedsburg.
