Cheryl A. Powell

Cheryl A. Powell age 70, of Sandusky, WI, passed away at home on Saturday, December 27, 2025. She was born on March 12, 1955, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Clifford and Regina (Pietcl) Halvorson. On October 15, 1977, she was united in marriage to Donald at Holy Redeemer Church in Milwaukee. 

Donnie and Cheryl moved from Milwaukee to their farm in Sandusky in 1985 where Cheryl became a homemaker. She loved cooking, canning and arts and crafts. Later in life, she cherished time with her grandchildren doing fun little projects. Cheryl was always a fun, loving person who enjoyed being with family and friends, playing cards and games. 

Cheryl was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald; grandson Owen; parents; stepfather Rodney Gillett; brothers: Kay and Duane; Donnie’s twin brother Ronald and sister: Mary (Bill) Jacklin. 

Cheryl is survived by her daughters: Dominique York (Scott) and Monica Powell (Matt Hohl); grandchildren: Nathan, Tierney, Rayonna, and Missy Mae (Family Dog); brothers: Bruce Halvorson, David (Florence) Halvorson; sister: Marlene (Jerry) Davis. She is also survived by Donnie’s siblings: Walter Powell Jr. (Sandi), Richard Powell, Gerald (Judy) Powell and Francis Powell; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

Funeral services for Cheryl will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Father John Blewett officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be made in the Sandusky Cemetery following the service.
