Beaver girls basketball wins at Tomah, Sydney Cherney sets school scoring record


Junior Sydney Cherney (#22) set a new single game scoring record for Reedsburg Beaver girls basketball last week by scoring 42 points in Reedsburg’s 73-60 loss at DeForest. Cherney was 13 of 27 from the floor and 13 of 13 at the foul line and also grabbed 11 rebounds as well. The previous record was 39 points, set last year by Mahra Wieman in a WIAA Regional final victory over McFarland. (Reedsburg Independent file photo)

The Reedsburg Beavers were able to notch the first win of the high school girls basketball season at Tomah on Saturday night after starting the season 0-2.
