Residents can check out State Parks for free in early June

A segment of the 400 State Trail is seen here. The trail is always free for pedestrians but other users must pay a fee. However, during the weekend of June 4 and 5, fees will be waived by the State to give people a chance to discover their local natural areas. (Reedsburg Independent file photo)

The State of Wisconsin will hold its free weekend for State Trails, Parks and fishing areas June 4 and 5.

This means guests will not need trail passes or vehicle stickers to access these areas. Normally, different fees are charged in order to cover the costs of maintaining these natural areas.
