Wormfarm Institute and Half-Moon Disc Golf Course have collaborated to bring a public art exhibit to downtown Reedsburg.

Artists were commissioned to create works along the 18-hole disc golf course in Webb Park. A variety of media are represented including woodworking, painting, fiber art and sculpture. Commissioned artists include Christopher Sweet of Reedsburg, Don Kauss of Loganville, Steve Tourdot of Reedsburg, Peter Krsko of Wonewoc, Laura Annis of Baraboo, Lightning New Rider of Wisconsin Dells, Ellie Erickson of Madison and Martina Patterson and George Jones, both of Milwaukee.

The exhibit, DISCover Art Golf, will be open June 12 through Nov. 7. A public reception will begin at 1 p.m. June 12. It will include comments from artists, disc golf activities and refreshments.

Free maps, which are available at the course and around town, will help visitors navigate the course. They also feature information about native plants and wildlife along the route. A conservation biologist from Madison, Maia Persche, organized a nature walk on the map.

Disconsin disc golf club will hold lessons this fall in advance of the Battle of the Bog Tournament in November. Details will be announced at a later date.
