Sauk County hosts vaccination clinic May 6

Sauk County Public Health will hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 6 in Baraboo.

The Wisconsin National Guard will be on site to help run this drive-thru clinic, which will take place at the former Sauk County landfill, E8795 Evergreen Lane. This clinic is for county residents 18 and older.

Participants may receive a first dose of the Moderna vaccine. Appointments are not required.

Vaccines will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis. Vehicles may have more than one person. Shots are free and participants do not need to show their ID.

Participants will remain in their vehicle at all times. They will be provided with information and need to sign a consent form before they receive the injection. They will also be asked to wait in a designated area to monitored by EMS personnel for 15 to 30 minutes.

It is anticipated that more than 600 people will be able to be vaccinated during this first clinic.

The return date for the second dose will be June 3.

Sauk County Public Health Officer Treemanisha Stewart encourages the public to be vaccinated.

“Getting vaccinated will help keep you, your family, your community, and the economy healthy and safe. Not getting vaccinated leaves you and your family open to catching the virus and getting sick. By you and others around you getting vaccinated, we will be able to move forward, get the economy moving again and get back to normal,” she said in a statement.
