Obituary: Lois C. Heinz

Lois C. Heinz, 92, of Reedsburg, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center. She was born March 10, 1929 to the late Herman J. and Adelia E. (Huth) Sommer in the Township of Troy, Walworth County, WI. She was born and raised on the farm operated by her father and brother. After their deaths in 1943 and 1944 she resided with her mother in East Troy and graduated from East Troy High School in 1947. In 1956 she left her job as Personnel Assistant at Trent Tube Company and accepted a position in Personnel at Square D Company in Milwaukee until 1971.  Thereafter she continued working in personnel and office management in Glendale and Milwaukee. 

In 1983 she was married to Charles F. Heinz, Sr. at which time they built a house at Christmas Mountain Village. He preceded her in death July 2, 2004. Lois worked in management at Christmas Mountain until her retirement. In 1995 they sold their home and moved to Reedsburg. 

In addition to her husband Charles, she was preceded in death by her brother Melvin. She is survived by Chuck’s sons and their families, her God daughter Vicki Woelky, cousins and their families and many dear friends.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Lois on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg. The Reverend Patrick Wendler, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Visitation will also be on Saturday, at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow services at Oak Ridge Cemetery in East Troy.
