March of the penguins: Weston kids discover world of arctic birds

With arctic-like temperatures outside, a Weston pre-K teacher took the opportunity to teach her kids about penguins. Mrs. Thompson taught the children about these birds and shared stories of Tacky the Penguin. She even got into the spirit by wearing a penguin costume and having her students practice waddling in the hallway.

Thompson, a teacher of 37 years, shared this comment: “I love, love, love doing different things with the children and many times they don’t even know they are learning. We are all having fun and that’s what keeps the love of teaching in me and with my pre-K kiddos. At this age they are little sponges and when things are put in front of them they are excited to learn even more.”
